Hi everyone,
I’m considering a linear power supply for a Lumin U2 Mini streamer and I have a question regarding the noise specifications published by LHY Audio.
The two models I’m looking at are:
- LPS-50 Pro | Pro Series 50W Audio-Grade Ultra-Low Noise Linear Power Supply
- LPS-50 | 50W Audio-Grade Ultra-Low Noise Linear Power Supply
From the available technical sheets and online materials, the LPS-50 is often quoted with very low noise figures (around ≤9 µV in some measurements), while the LPS-50 Pro appears to show higher noise values (e.g. <20 µV / <100 µV depending on load and measurement method).
My question is:
Does anyone have real-world information or independent measurements clarifying whether the Pro is actually noisier than the LPS-50, or are these differences simply due to different measurement methods (bandwidth, load conditions, test equipment, etc.)?
I’m mainly trying to understand which of the two would be better suited as the “cleanest possible” power supply for a digital streamer like the Lumin U2 Mini.
Any real-world experience or properly measured data would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
