If my ISP already uses a fiber connection into the house and everything first goes through their router, the network should already be electrically isolated.

In that case, is there still any real benefit to having optical isolation built into the switch?

Even if your ISP delivers the signal via fiber and the home network is already optically isolated at the entry point, the optical isolation in the AS8 Pro is still beneficial.

This is because ISP routers or optical modems typically use standard switching power supplies and can generate electrical noise during operation or when serving multiple devices. This noise can still propagate within the home network.
