We'd like to share an early technical preview of the LHY Audio AS8 Pro+, the 2026 update version of AS8 Pro.
AS8 Pro+ does not aim to expand user-facing functionality, but represents a substantial internal engineering upgrade focused on sound quality, delivering clear and tangible benefits in real-world listening systems.
MagShield Partitioned Shielding Architecture
A cleaner and more stable operating environment
With AS8 Pro+, LHY Audio introduces MagShield for the first time as a system-level design concept.
MagShield is not a single component, but a partition-based internal shielding architecture.
A dedicated shielding plate is implemented in the transformer section, isolating the alternating magnetic field generated by the transformer and its load-dependent current. This limits magnetic field propagation toward the clock, power regulation stages, and other low-level circuits.
Unlike simple metal dividers, MagShield focuses on managing magnetic interference paths.
To achieve this, coil structures are integrated into the shielding plate, helping to suppress and absorb power-related magnetic disturbances and reducing the impact of rapid magnetic field changes caused by transient current draw.

- More stable imaging, detail retrieval, and spatial presentation
OCXO Upgrade with Independent Metal Enclosure
More consistent timing performance
AS8 Pro+ employs a higher-grade OCXO, with phase noise improved to < –112 dBc (at key offset frequencies), focusing on short-term stability and close-in phase noise performance.
The OCXO is housed in an independent metal enclosure, which helps improve thermal stability and also provides a degree of shielding against external electromagnetic interference, allowing the clock to operate in a more controlled environment.

Power Supply System
Re-architected design with upgraded materials
The power supply system in AS8 Pro+ has been re-planned at the architectural level, with key material upgrades implemented in parallel:
Finer power-domain partitioning to reduce interaction between functional blocks
Higher-grade capacitors at critical nodes to improve energy storage, lower ESR, and enhance noise control and transient response
Internal power wiring upgraded to Oyaide conductors, using the same internal conductor specification as found in our Ultimate Series DC Power Cable, ensuring consistency and stability throughout the entire power delivery path inside the unit

A Unified Engineering-to-Listening Approach
